When I reach the top, I will be no better than those who have yet to get there.

When my happiness makes another man sad, I reconsider my happiness.

The greatest events of my life have had no monetary price tag.

When a man tells me he has no faith, I ask him if the Earth is spinning.

Each day has potential of producing memorable moments. I must allow them to happen.

In my uneducated youth, my most regretful moments involved actions. As an educated adult, most of my regretful moments involve words.

Stupid words make those I care about unhappy. Wise words tend to do the opposite.

While I regret not where I have been, I now pay more attention to where I go.

Yes, I am still learning from my mistakes.

Each year provides me with 365 new beginnings. I take advantage of each.

The best way to become a writer is to write.

If you want to learn a lot about yourself, write a novel.

If you want to be an author, look at old photos of yourself. Each has the potential of inspiring a novel. Where were you? What did you see? What did you hear? What did you smell? What part of that moment might someone else find interesting?

From the Appalachian Mountains to the Western Kentucky cornfields, Ron Gambrell has the Bluegrass state etched into his soul. He has a science degree from the University of Kentucky and a Business degree from Mid-Continent University. As a member of the Louisville Bourbon Society, Ron has become somewhat of a Kentucky Bourbon connoisseur. You may see him at one of Kentucky's great Bourbon Distilleries as he is a tour guide for Mint Julep Experience out of Louisville.

His travels, both personal and professional have created fodder for literary adventures. Though Ron's roots remain in the hills of Grayson and Clay Counties, he resides in the Derby City of Louisville. He is an artist in multiple genres. See his drawings and paintings. Ron's ear for music has been written, recorded and performed in country, pop, rock, R&B, and rap. While attending college as an adult, Ron became interested in literary writing. He has now published GRAYSON SPRINGS, SIX LITTLE SCARS, and THE FISHER MAN, and is working on number four.
